Although now a partner, Malcolm really did start at the “ground floor” at Treadwells. Malcolm actually began working with the firm part-time after school. He moved on to become a law clerk and, after completing a Bachelor of Laws and the course at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies, became a solicitor and eventually a partner, enjoying a broad general practice.
Career highlights include working as a junior to a senior Queen’s Counsel, and assisting the National Council of Rural Woman New Zealand with a number of significant and complex transactions. He enjoys the variety of pragmatic approach most Wellington practitioners take to resolving problems, along with the harbour ambience of the capital city.
Malcolm also has a BA in English Literature from Victoria; his interests include music, film, reading, swimming, tennis and sailing. One of his most consuming passions has been playing in, as well as tutoring, pipe bands over the last 25 years.
